The Prison Ministry has 13 teams that minister at different facilities around Central Virginia.  Ministry typically occurs in the form of teaching sessions where the Word is taught, surrounded by prayer and an altar call.  Special events occur frequently that range from music/drama presentations to mini crusades.  The Prison Ministry also has a Transition Team that helps support released individuals transition back into society.  The Transition Team’s first initiative is at the Richmond City Jail Women’s facility.  This initiative consists of teaching foundational discipleship curriculum and mentoring pre-release and post release.  Download our newsletter that highlights some of the fruit of the work of the Prison Ministry along with other activities of the department.
