What is a Treasure Hunt?

A Treasure Hunt is when you pray and receive a word of knowledge from God about someone God wants you to minister to. The hunt is using the clues the Holy Spirit gives to find the person. You are partnering with the Holy Spirit as He guides you, He also will guide them to you.

This is a witness to the working of the Holy Spirit and the unfailing love that God has for each of us. What an honor it is to be used by God in such a powerful way. In Acts chapter 9, Ananias was used by the Holy Spirit to lead Saul to faith in Jesus. Check back regularly to read the testimonials of how the Lord is moving in Richmond Virginia.

Can I be used by the Holy Spirit?

YES - Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all truth.

John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."

“Treasure Hunting” is a way to exercise the gifts of the Spirit in our lives. These gifts of the Spirit are free to everyone in the Body of Christ. These “revelation gifts” are just some of the tools we have to complete our assignment of reaching the lost with the Gospel message. Join us on either of these upcoming training dates to learn how to be used by the Holy Spirit and His “revelation gifts” to reach the lost. Then go out with us on Saturdays or Tuesdays to put into practice what you have learned. Treasure Hunt training dates Sunday January 13th and 20th, 2-3:30pm 117.

A family received prayer for healing - mother was blonde, caucasian, wore glasses and blue. Father wore green. We prayed for lady standing near fried chicken, wearing glasses, had foot problems, daughter with headaches. Another lady named Shelia was standing by oranges - recieved salavation, prayer for lonliness and grief. A man received prayer for healing from headaches. Two blonde women, wearing blue and glasses received prayer for healing and peace at home. Glory to God!

Our treasure hunt took place at the Christmas Tree Shops, where we found many of the clues that were on our list. A man was driving a black SUV, was wearing an orange top and glasses, and was parked next to some flowers. These were all clues from our list. He would not accept prayer, but we believe seed was sown. 'Pink top and jeans' was also on our list. We prayed for a grandmother and her granddaughter who wanted general prayer for their family and for health. Both were wearing pink tops and jeans. We also prayed for another young lady who was wearing a pink top and glasses(on our list!. Paise God!

The Lord led us to Burlington Coat Factory. Some of the clues on our treasure map were: Andy, Caucasian, sick child, scarf section, yellow, and red. We met a woman in the scarf section who had an adult sick child! We prayed for his healing and that he would receive salvation. She was very grateful! We approached a gentleman who was wearing a yellow shirt. Though I did not recognize him, he recognized me. This was a person that I grew up with. We shared God's plan of salvation with him and he received Jesus as his savior. A Caucasian man, wearing red, whose name was Andy received prayer. What an amazing God!

The Holy Spirit lead our team to a large Big Lots store where we met people who had various prayer needs. Two people received prayer for finances; one person for blood pressure; encouragement for a man who was offended by the church; and a woman who had breast cancer received prayer for healing. To God be all the glory!

We were led first to a laundromat that was in a small strip mall. One of our clues for appearance was "Hispanic." A man who matched the clue received prayer and he was invited to ESL classes at FLM. At a convenience store in the strip mall two people recieved salvation. We were also led to Wawa where one more person received salvation and prayer for overall health and finances. Another person received prayer for a healed knee which was on our list. We had clues for person with a limp, obese and wearing jeans. A woman fit all these clues and received prayer for healing. A man requested and received prayer for his estranged son who was very angry with him. Our last person received prayer for rededication.

We took a team of 3 people out treasure hunting on 2/9/13. We went to Regency Square Mall and Wal-mart on Parham Rd. near Regency Square. God showed up just like he always do. We encounter a woman who only spoke Spanish and we just so happen to have a spanish interpreter who was able to talk with her. She had abdominal pain which was one of our clues and she was healed as we prayed for her symptoms to leave. God is marvelous. We also prayed for a family who had a financial need. We left the mall and went to the Wal-mart where two young ladies gave their hearts to Christ. It was an awesome time in the Lord. We had a wonderful time as God performed miracles in each one of these people's lives.

I went on my 2nd treasure hunt Feb 3rd. Honestly, when you're starting out, you can feel a little awkward. I decided to take pictures on my 1st hunt so I could contribute, without being out of my comfort zone too much. But this hunt led us to the mall, so I didn't want to draw attention to us by having a camera. My natural mind couldn't grasp how these "thoughts" I got were clues from God. I still hung back & let the others lead the way. At the end of our hunt, we were looking at watches. I wasn't really thinking about my map by then. But the lady helping us was named Michelle, which was a clue that God had given me specifically. I ended up praying for her healing & she started doing things she couldn't do before without pain. Wow. I write this to say, if you're a little uncomfortable about treasure hunts, just start off being a part of the group in some way. God will use you.

On Saturday (2/2), seven of us went on treasure hunt. After prayer we divided into two teams. One went to Big Lots and the other to Dick's Sporting and Walmart. Our clues from the Holy Spirit lead us to people who received prayer for general healing and other general prayer. There was one specific prayer for healing of the knee which was also on our list. Both teams were lead to women with gray hair wearing purple -- all descriptions from our list. We shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with a woman of the Quaker religion and a man who didn't believe in anything. God is good.

Today, the Lord gave us the clues of grocery store, white female, & joint pain. He led us to several women who were very young in the Christrian faith but who were very exited to see themselves on our treasure map and were very eager to receive agreement in prayer for some very significant needs in their lives. Most importantly in addition to praying for their natural needs God had us minister to their spirit man. Praise God!

On Sunday January 20, 2013 after the treasure hunt training, a team of 3 were led by the Holy Spirit to go to Exxon and Walmart. We prayed for a number of people. There were 2 salvations. It was blessed.
